Artist Biography:

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics from the University of North Alabama in 2015.

I have experience with a variety of mediums, including sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, and graphic design, but my passion is ceramics and functional pottery. After graduation, I started learning more about different methods of production while working at a ceramic growler production studio in Huntsville, AL. This allowed me to grow as a ceramic artist and it helped open doors for me to work at two other production pottery companies.

After moving to Lubbock, TX in August 2019, I became a member of the Llano Clay guild and Helen Devitt Jones Clay Studio. I now work from home in my garage studio so I can be present with my family. CK Ceramics is the avenue that allows that to happen.

Description of Artwork:

It all starts with a prototype designed in 3D modeling software. The design is printed on my 3D printer and then has custom molds created in my studio. These crafted molds are cast in terra cotta, fired, coated in glazes, and fired again in an electric kiln. I am now exploring ways of adding drawings to the sides of my mugs.
