JAM Art | Jodi, Moore

Artist Name:

Jodi Moore

Description of Artwork:

Up until 2022 most of my work consisted of mostly painted canvases and painted denim. In 2022 I began making piñatas as an attempt to start recycling in my own home. Though the idea of spending hours building something so it could be broken never sat right with me. When people began buying my piñatas to keep and not break, that’s when I realized I was onto something. I wanted to take it to the next level so I began using the cardboard and paper mache to sculpt and build off canvases. I wanted to make art that came off the canvas and submerged you into the piece. Most of my pieces I take inspiration from nature, biblical text, or anatomy.

Artist Biography:

I am 25, Born and raised in midland tx, I’ve had a love for art since I was a little girl. What started as an obsession with doodling evolved into a love for painting and turned into my desire to sculpt and build the things I could only dream of. My grandfather Abraham used to surprise me with projects he’d built out of wood for my kids and I. Being able to work with my hands and build ideas from scratch makes me feel closer to him. Art saves lives, and it saved mine.
